Workcamps für Teenager

Manche Organisationen bieten neben den "normalen" Workcamps ab 18 auch zahlreiche Camps für Teenager an. Es gibt sowohl Camps, die ausschließlich Teilnehmern zwischen 15 und 17 Jahren offen stehen als auch Camps, deren Teilnehmergruppe sich aus über und unter 18jährigen zusammensetzt.

Was ist das besondere an Teenager-Camps?
  • Neben der Anmeldung müssen häufig spezielle Formulare eingereicht werden, wie z.B. eine Einverständniserklärung, die sowohl vom Teilnehmer als auch von den Eltern unterschrieben werden muss.
  • Die Arbeitszeit in den Camps ist oft geringer als in "Erwachsenencamps".
  • Die Campleitungen müssen zusätzliche pädagogische Qualifikationen mitbringen.
  • Für den zusätzlichen Aufwand, den die Organisation eines Teenager-Camps mitbringt, wird in der Regel eine zusätzliche Gebühr verlangt.

Projekt mit lokalen Teenagern in Westfinnland

PROJECT: The camp is organized together with local youth associations such as 4h club and cultural association. The camp is organised in order to provide intercultural learning experiences for local and international volunteers by doing meaningful work together.
WORK:Various renovation and environmental tasks including painting a youth house. The work will be done together with local young volunteers. Be prepared to do various tasks.
ACCOMMODATION: Accomodation will be in host families and/or at a local school
LOCATION: Lappajarvi is a small town in western Finland about 400km north of Helsinki and about 125km east of Vaasa. There will be lots of possibilities for experiencing the local lifestyle, get to know people and the surrounding area and do summer activities such as swimming etc.
REQUIREMENTS: You should be prepared to tell other participants about your country and culture.

Landschaftspflege um ein Holzhaus

This workcamp is for 16 and 17 years old teenagers!
WORK: Youth office of Helsinki city is the camp host of this camp so there will also be 10 Finnish volunteers taking part in all activities in addition to 15 international volunteers. The camp is arranged in an old wooden house in an island in front of Helsinki. The volunteer will do maintenance work in the house and around it. The work will be physical work such as gardening and moving sand, maybe also some tidying up. Intercultural learning is a very important part of the camp, so all the volunteers should be prepared to tell about their home countries.
ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation will be in the house which is owned by the city youth office. The volunteers will cook their meals in turns (be ready to cook something typical for your country).
LOCATION: Helsinki is the capital of Finland.

Unterstuetzung bei einer Veranstaltung

This workcamp is for 16 and 17 years old teenagers!
WORK: The camp host is a local 4H club. The work will be to assist in organising a local event called Old engines day. The volunteers will assist in practical tasks in arranging the event, e.g. arranging a café, selling refreshments, tidying up the area afterwards and other miscellaneous work. The volunteers must be prepared to do different kind of work in various weather conditions. The aim of the camp is to give the volunteers a chance to experience Finnish nature and culture and enable the local young people to meet youngsters from other countries. Various summer activities such as swimming, playing games and fishing are possible.
ACCOMMODATION: The accommodation is mainly in host families.
LOCATION: Oulainen is a small town, about 7800 inhabitants. It’s about 100 km south from Oulu and about 550km north from Helsinki. Nearest airport is Oulu. More info www.oulainen.fi

Trockensteinmauern - eine historische Bautechnik

The project: "Aquitaine" is a rich area of France for dry stone heritage. The Community of Commune of the Fumelois Country wishes to maintain and renovate this heritage. With this intention it will host, during 15 days, on the hamlet of Saint Avit, an international workcamp of 20 young volunteers who will take part in the restoration of a dry stone retaining wall. They will learn techniques and know-how related to this restoration. They will take part in a collective life and will discover local stories and animations.
WORK: In the hamlet of Saint Avit, volunteers will restore a dry stone wall: dismount - clean - sort out - cut - place back the stones.
Activities: The organisers will propose several activities and animations to you. We expect everyone to have an active participation to set up and to live nicely the tasks of the daily life (cooking, shopping, camp maintenance) and activities of cultural discovery. Be imaginative! You will live a group experience! The workcamp is placed under the principles of eco-citizenship education of the participants through the practices of the sorting of waste, the realization of composting, making and using dry toilets, choosing a respectful food for health and environment.
LOCATION: For 30 years, the small hamlet of St Avit had been abandoned. The inhabitants of the surrounding communes undertook to restore it. ACCOMMODATION: Installation of a camping site (tents) on the town of Lacapelle Biron, 2 km from the site. The Tennis Club will provide us with kitchen, showers and toilets.

Renovierung eines Schuppens im Wald bei Tours

PROJECT: Once more, the local community is ready to host a workcamp. This year’s main task will be to renovate a small house so that it blends better with the surroundings. This house is located in the woods of a Natural area called Les Rouchoux and used during outdoor and sustainable campaign activities.
WORK: You will work in a forest next to Tours. You will realize the wood cladding on the back of the house.
Activities: Discovery of the region and several activities are possible. Volunteers will have to get involved in the organization and the leisure time, along with the leaders and according to the budget given to the workcamp.
LOCATION: The workcamp will take place 20km in the north of Tours. Nearest big town: ROUZIERS-en-Touraine. Nearest airport: Paris. Terminal: Tours.
ACCOMMODATION: in tents and with an environmental respectful way of life using bicycles, dry toilets and solar shower…
REQUIREMENTS: All volunteers participate in teams in the organization of the daily life (cooking, cleaning, buying). The group has a budget for the food and you will have to buy it. You will get the chance to develop your culinary talents: bring your recipes! Generally speaking, volunteers are invited to get actively involved in the workcamp life.

Aktivitäten mit französischen Jugendlichen in der ehemaligen Vulkanregion des Zentralmassivs

Since 2001 Unarec (études ET chantiers) and the town of Aurillac have established several international workcamps of volunteers. This association works in collaboration with social centres in Aurillac to strengthen the participation of local youth in our projects. This year, the project aims at preparing an area for family gardens by putting the fences. The contact with the users of the gardens will be encouraged and you will also organise some intercultural activities to present your country, your culture to the children and youth of Aurillac.
WORK: You will work on a project of family gardens. You will install a fence to close the field.
Activities: On your arrival, leaders will propose several activities; but it’s expected that everyone has an active participation in order to organise and share the activities with the group. Be imaginative! You will live an experience in a group and things are planned within the group. Don't forget it!
LOCATION: With about 30,000 inhabitants, Aurillac is a small welcoming town, situated near beautiful mountainous landscapes (The Monts of Cantal) where several rivers originate. The Monts of Cantal are the signs of the immense volcano covering most parts of the Cantal department. Aurillac is at an average altitude of 700m, and she receives every year a big festival of street arts.
ACCOMMODATION: You will be accommodated in a camp site close to nature, along a river and you will sleep in tents for 2 or 3 persons.

Wiederaufbau einer mittelalterlichen Burg in der Auvergne

THE PROJECT: Rebuild the medieval castle of a small French village; Learn the recipe of lime mortar! Since summer 2002, workcamps have begun to protect the Montaigu-le-Blin’s castle – which has been listed as a Historical Monument. Thanks to your involvement, we would like to stop the damages caused by bad weather and vegetation, and eventually, give back to the castle the important part it used to play (openings to the public, guided tours, heritage linked activities…). In 2012, there will be 3 sessions of two weeks each in July and August.
WORK: Works are numerous and diversified. You will focus on restoring a part of the lower courtyard: rejointing, cutting back into the old joints, colouring -at human height (no scaffolding) -on the entry wall; building again the wall, rejointing, lime coating - on a scaffold - on the surrounding wall; repair a staircase (clearing the steps, clearing off the vegetation). you will also participate to painting the castle’s gate and start the restoration of a wooden house used for welcoming public. Here is your programme! You will also be able to participate to welcoming the people coming to visit the castle. Your ideas, experiences, wishes to animate the village are also welcome!
Activities: On your arrival, leaders will propose several activities; but your ideas are welcomed and everything can be discussed. So be imaginative, the workcamp is a place for having fun! We don’t expect you to do activities on your own, you will live an experience in a group and things are planned within the group.
LOCATION: You will be welcomed in Montaigu-le-Blin, a small village. There is an inn that also sells bread; food shops are located at Varennes-sur-Allier (within 12 km). Leisure time allows you to discover this rural region which preserves some beautiful villages and many castles. Hiking and walking are very good ways to discover this heritage.
ACCOMMODATION: You will sleep in tents. 2 showers are a five-minute walk from the camp.
REQUIREMENTS:
-You will work at heights, on scaffolding. So, we ask you a parental authorization and a medical certificate.
-If you have safety shoes, take them with you. Otherwise, make sure you bring sturdy and close footwear to protect your feet while working!

Arbeit an einem alten Kerker

PROJECT: the borough of Béthisy wishes to promote the involvement of youngsters in the town’s life. For example, a youth town council is operating and a youth service organises multiple activities. The international workcamps this summer will be an occasion to increase the exchanges and participation among local and international youngsters.
WORK: in the town, stands a dungeon in ruin erected on a hill. The main goal is to make the dungeon able to welcome the public by realising little work in order to reinforce the ruins.
LANGUAGE: English
LOCATION: Béthisy Saint-Pierre is located in the surroundings of the forest of Compiègne, in the charming “vallée de l’Automne” (Autumn Valley).
ACCOMMODATION: under tents (the Feast Hall will also be used).

THE PROJECT: Restoration of three fountains (watering place, feeding trough) in the village of "Esplas de Sérou" which wishes to maintain its local heritage while promoting the intercultural meeting.
WORK: Cleaning of the stones, sealing off the basins, landscape design.
Activities: The organisers will propose several activities and animations to you. We expect everyone to have an active participation to set up and to live nicely the tasks of the daily life (cooking, shopping, camp maintenance) and activities of cultural discovery. Be imaginative! You will live a group experience! LOCATION: " Esplas-de-Sérou" is a French small village of the department of Ariège and the area of the Midi-Pyrenees, located at 675 meters high. The town belongs to the regional natural park of the Pyrenees ariégeoises.

Deutsch-Französisches Teenagercamp auf einer Insel vor der bretonischen Küste

IBG arbeitet in diesem Jahr erstmals mit der „Ligue de l'Enseignement de Côtes-d'Armor“ zusammen, dem regionalen Ableger einer großen frankreichweiten Organisation der Bereiche laizistischer Bildung, Erziehung, Jugend- und Sozialarbeit.
ARBEITSPROJEKT: Restauration des Waschhauses von Pokado auf der Insel Groix. Das Waschhaus von Pokado befindet sich im kleinen Dorf Locmaria, im Südosten der Insel Groix (Ile de Groix). Dieses Dorf war früher der Hauptort der Insel und hat den typischen Charakter eines Fischerdörfchens. Wie in zahlreichen anderen Orten auf der Insel (insgesamt gibt es 17 Dörfer) gibt es in Locmaria ein typisches kleines Waschhaus, das heute stark verwahrlost ist und dringend renoviert werden muss.
Es handelt sich um ein deutsch-französisches Workcamp, Campsprachen sind Französisch, Deutsch und Englisch. Neben dem Arbeitsprojekt stehen der interkulturelle Austausch und die Entdeckung der Bretagne im Zentrum.
UNTERKUNFT & ESSEN: Unterbringung in Zweier-Zelten (gestellt), Mädchen und Jungs getrennt, die Jugendlichen bereiten vor Ort ihr Essen für Mittags und Abends selbst in einem extra Zelt zu.
ORT: Locmaria, Ile de Groix, Morbihan – Bretagne Sud. Treffpunkt: Lorient Bahnhof. Eine gemeinsame Anreise der deutschen Teilnehmer ab Stuttgart wird angestrebt, dazu wird IBG einen konkreten Vorschlag für eine Zugverbindung machen.

Deutsche und französische Teenager restaurieren einen Kalvarienberg in der Bretagne

Plouëc-du-Trieux ist eine von der Küste 20 km entfernte Stadt des Departements Côtes d’Armor. Sie beherbergte schon eine römische Garnison und um das Jahr 1000 wurde die Gegend durch seine große Burg "Castellum super Triticum" bekannt, die von den Baronen der Bretagne bewohnt wurde. Wir laden alle herzlich ein, die das lokale kulturelle und natürliche Erbe dieser Region entdecken möchten, den Küstenstreifen, das Hinterland und an einem interkulturellen Workcamp teilhaben wollen und vieles mehr.
ARBEITSPROJEKT: Gemeinsam wird ein Kalvarienberg restauriert, der ein Teil des lokalen kulturellen Erbes darstellt.
Es handelt sich um ein deutsch-französisches Workcamp, Campsprachen sind Französisch, Deutsch und Englisch. Neben dem Arbeitsprojekt stehen der interkulturelle Austausch und die Entdeckung der Bretagne im Zentrum.

Teenagerprojekt im Zentrum von Chartes-de-Bretagne

PROJECT: The town of Chartres-de-Bretagne wishes to bring together young people from all over Europe around a common project. They target especially countries where the town has twin projects: Romania, Germany, Poland, Ireland. Already some volunteers joined the project: 2 Romanian, 2 Polish and 2 volunteers from Chartres-de-Bretagne. Now it is your turn to join and fill up the team (6places).
WORK: The workcamp aims at laying out/improving an area in a leisure park in the centre of the town, especially a kiosk. The goal is to create a symbolic link between the historical city centre and its future expansion (through an eco-district). You will participate to small landscape masonry work (realisation of stone facing, installation of cobblestone around the kiosk) and to the building of a barbecue…
ACCOMMODATION: in big tents on the field of a farm located only 2km from the camp site via a footpath; one room, a kitchen, bikes, a mini-bus and outdoor leisure spaces will be provided for the group.

Mithilfe beim Auf- und Ausbau des Naturerlebniszentrums Base Nature Vercors

The project: Located at the heart of the Parc Régional of Vercors, at the starting point of major touring rides, the Base Nature Vercors is a centre where children and young people can experiment to live in and with the nature under basic conditions (http://www.basenaturevercors.org). Its objectives are to invite you to environmental protection, to be aware of energy consumption reduction issues... and to life in nature under tipis. We expect you to give a hand for the development of this centre.
Work: You will build little straw houses and braid the walls; you will also be able to go and help the market gardeners… You will also discover all the techniques of the ecoconstruction.
Activities: Even though the place provides many activities like hiking, observation and discovering the flora and fauna, orientation courses, hiking with lama… your ideas are welcomed and all the suggestions can be discussed. Be imaginative! We expect that you participate in the activities which will be decided together with the volunteers and the camp leaders. You will live an experience in a group and things are planned within the group. Don't forget it!
Location: You will be at the heart of nature and don’t expect to see a city near your place of stay. All this will be at around 1000 meters high.
Accommodation: In tents. You can use the toilets in the centre.

Renovierungsarbeiten am einem Schloss und Mauerbau mit natürlichen Materialien

PROJECT: The association “Le Créneau” is situated in a little castle in the heart of a large property in the region of Auvergne. It hosts throughout the year many people of different cultural and social backgrounds, who come to work voluntarily. Their aim is to experience a different way of living. Volunteers will participate in the maintenance of the place, by renovating the walls of the buildings on the property by the traditional masonry methods and they will have the possibility to learn on how to brick small walls with natural materials (water, straw and clay). This project will allow volunteers to meet people from all over the world and France, to get to know better the rural way of living, to visit some cities around (e.g. Moulins and Vichy) as well as some touristy spots of this area.
ACCOMMODATION: in tents in the garden of the castle.
LOCATION: Montcombroux-les-Mines (Allier), 45 km from Vichy.

Pflege des Wanderwegs zur Marienstatue von Murat

The project: At the heart of the Parc des Volcans d’Auvergne the community of cities of the Murat area organises every year, with the partnership of études ET chantiers, a teenage workcamp. Their goal is to revitalize this rural area which owns an important natural and architectural heritage. This year, the workcamp will take place in Murat.
Work: You will rebuild a stone wall on a small way leading to the statue of the Virgin on top of the city of Murat.
Activities: On your arrival, leaders will propose several activities; but your ideas are welcomed and everything can be discussed. So be imaginative, the workcamp is a place for having fun! We don’t expect you to do activities on your own, you will live an experience in a group and things are planned within the group. Don't forget it!
Location: Murat is 1000 meters high, between the Cantal Mounts and the Cézallier plateau. This town counts more than 2000 inhabitants and is one of the district capitals of the Cantal departement. Murat has preserved its authenticity thanks to its numerous stone built and slate roofed houses and the richness of its traditional heritage. It also developed an environment friendly economy thanks to tourism and open air activities.
Accommodation: You will sleep in tents at the communal campsite in Murat; there will be a big tent for collective activities (eating, etc.). The campsite is located next to the city centre where you can find all kinds of small shops.
Special Requirements: The city is high above sea level, evenings and nights are often fresh and sometimes cold. Bring sweaters and a warm sleeping bag.

The project : For the sixth year the Bergerie Nationale (National Sheep Barn) will host international workcamps. The area of this farming organization spreads on 220 ha of cultivated land and there are a lot of animals in the educational farm: cows, horses, pigs, sheep… Each year, the Bergerie Nationale hosts around 10,000 visitors.
Works: You will do some maintenance work of the natural area of the Bergerie Nationale. (Work program still to be validated.)
Activities: On your arrival, leaders will propose several activities; but your ideas are welcomed and everything can be discussed. So be imaginative, the workcamp is a place for having fun! We don’t expect you to do activities on your own, you will live an experience in a group and things are planned within the group.
Location: The town of Rambouillet is located one hour from Paris. It has 2000 hectares of forests and more than 300 shops. You will live 2 kilometres away from the town centre, in the heart of the forest. Only one trip to Paris will be organized. If you plan to visit deeper the French capital, you will need to do it before or after the workcamp.

Kreatives Teenagercamp auf Sizilien

PROJECT: Il Muro is a group or artists and youth workers working to spread awareness on different topics (environment, active citizenship) using theatre, clowning and puppets to meet people on the streets during parades and events. The project is focused on environmental issues and will allow the volunteers to share ideas and create together a new event.
WORK: The work will be based on the construction of puppets with recycled material, from the manipulation of paper mache to the construction, use and maneuver of puppets. All this will culminate in a parade on the environment through the streets of Sortino. The work will be accompanied by a physical training, useful to have a good perception of the body, that will be the tool to manipulate puppets. The training will be based on the study of the principles of natural elements' movements (water, air, land, fire) and the study of their breathing to listen attentively to the breath of mother Earth. The volunteers group will be composed by international and italians. English will be the common language.
LOCATION: Sortino is a town in the Province of Syracuse, South East of Sicily . It is located in the Anapo river valley. The Necropolis of Pantalica, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "Syracuse and the Rocky Necropolis of Pantalica" is situated between Sortino and Ferla. Eremo di Santa Sofia, where the volunteers will work, is an historical hermitage recently renewd by the municipality of Sortino to host social projects. It lays on the Pantalica Valley and is devoted to environmental friendly approach.
ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will cook in shifts with mediterranean ingredients. They will sleep in the hosting rooms.
LEISURE: Visits in the surroundigs: excursion to Pantalica Valley, visit to the museum of Opera dei Pupi (the ancient sicilian tradition of puppets).

Straßentheater für Umweltschutz und Kreativität

Adult workcamp exceptionally open for volunteers up from 17 years old!
WORK: First the participants will prepare a street theatre with clear environmental message, adding their own creative performances (dance, music, joggling, singing,...). They will be sharing ideas and creating a really spectacular extravaganza in each village they visit along the way. The message the participants will be spreading will be one of environmentalism and creativity. After which, we shall head off on our caravan with our donkeys! We will stop at each village and perform our shows and workshops which we have prepared. The local people can then share their thoughts of environmentalism, donkeys and the workshops we are doing. We hope we will stay in each village we perform in, with tents, and meet lots of interesting people along the way, although the final agenda will not be known untill few days before the camp starts, as we depend on local Municipallities to support the performance or not. The Workcamp also takes place during the local ‘fiesta’ or village party, so the opportunity to socialise with local people will be available.
Accomodation: provided in big tents to share within participants, in the Camping Monte Holiday with toilet area, hot water, washing machines and recreation areas, swimming pool and wi-fi connection contained. You need to bring mat and sleeping bag and maybe your own tent. Food will be prepared by volunteers themselves, using the camping gas. During the performance, participants can sleep in another villages in tents or in local schools.
LOCATION: Gargantilla del Lozoya, Sierra Norte Madrid. A small town 80Km north of Madrid. Mountain area.

Therefore, please indicate TRUELY your experiences in your application and do not forget that behind this whole artistical performance, there is a strong environmental message.

For volunteers 16-17 years old.
PROJECT: The project will take place on OSCARSFARM in WEST BURKE / VERMONT. The aim is the development of land into farm use and construction on farm buildings.
WORK: Several tasks are to do in the agricultural field: turning soil, weeding, gathering and hauling, felling trees, composting, cutting firewood, using trees saws, shovels, axes and other garden tools. In construction field: building a large deck, gazebo, and outhouse. Volunteers will be nailing, moving materials, digging foundations, making beams and posts, using hand and power tools.
We will gladly teach anyone basic construction skills.
ACCOMODATION AND FOOD: Indoor sleeping and cooking facilities, mattresses, blankets. We can meet any reasonable dietary needs. Boots, raingear, and warm clothes are recommended.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: There is hiking, fishing, swimming, biking, and day trips to Burlington Vt., We will also visit local farmers markets.
