 Flagge SpanienIn Spanien arbeiten wir mit einer Abteilung des Bildungsministeriums (SVI) bzw. dessen Außenstelle im Baskenland (EK) zusammen.
In der Region Katalonien werden die Workcamps von lokalen Organsiation angeboten, die Koordination erfolgt durch COCAT.
Seit 2011 haben wir zusätzlich Workcamps der Organisation De Amicitia (ESDA) im Programm. Diese ist vor allem im ökologischen Bereich tätig.
Da in den spanischen Workcamps in der Regel viele spanische Freiwillige teilnehmen und die Projekte bei SVI sogar zweisprachig sind, empfehlen wir Spanischkenntnisse

Das Höchstalter in Spanien liegt bei 30 Jahren, in einigen Projekten sogar darunter!

Spanischsprachiges Camp: Mithilfe beim Outdoorsports-Festival!

Work: The workcamp will support an weekend activity (2-3.6.2012), which is a festival and exposition of different sports: canoeing, paddle bicycle, climbing, paragliding, horse riding, triatlon, mountain race, etc. You can see more information about the event at: http://www.festivaldeaventura.com/ . The work of volunteers will be to prepare the event, organise logistics and during the event also to be looking after the correct running of the activities. There will be possibilities to try some of the activities, as well.
Accommodation: will be provided in a tents, in camping or in local Youth Hostal. Food will be provided by different stages – breakfests made by volunteers in a place of sleeping, lunch on place of festival in a form of pick-nick and dinner in a restaurant.
Location: Lozoya, Sierra Norte of Madrid, Spain

Work: The first week (until Monday) will consist of getting-to-know and teambuilding activities of the participants. During this time, they will also prepare some workshops, non-formal activities and games for childrens of the village. These will be provided during next 2 weeks (2x Monday-Friday) to local children. 4 hours activities per day will be provided in English and will focus on environmental education. De Amicitia has previous experience with this kind of activities and there will be monitors and booklets provided for volunteers to help to prepare and organise these activities.
Accomodation: provided either in a local school of municipality, or at beds or mattrasses in the attic and rooms of a house in a village with shower, kitchen and wi-fi connection. It is necessary to bring mat and sleeping bag. Food will be prepared by volunteers themselves.

Experimentelle Archäologie - mit Fahrtkostenzuschuß!

4-Motoren-Projekt - Nur für Teilnehmer aus Baden-Württemberg!
PROJECT: Fundacio Pere Tarres. Ciutadella Iberica de Calafell (Calafell Citadel) is an archaeological site which shows how was the life of a community of the Iron Age. During the year 2007-2008, the site has been closed to the public in order to reformulate a new museum project based on experimental archeology. This new project aims to place the archaeological site as a referent point in the European framework of this kind of outdoor museum and at the same time aims to make the Ciutadella a pioneer in the experimental investigation of the Iberian world.The volunteers of the workcamp will get knowledge about Iberian history, architecture and antic ways of building with earth.
WORK: Volunteers will do different tasks in order to participate to the reconstruction of the archaeological site as restoring the roof, the ledges and more generally the indoor and outdoor rehabilitation of the site.The organization will provide technical and historical content about antic construction with earth. Volunteers will put in practice these antic methodologies during the workcamp.
ACCOMODATION: In the school of Calafell. You need to bring old clothes and sleeping bag.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: Games, trips to the beach, excursions to Tarragona (visiting the roman part) and Barcelona (the Gothic part), workshops (relaxation, handicrafts, etc.), intercultural evenings, activities with the youngsters of the town (sports, castellers, etc.). Patrimonito project: with special focus and activities related on Catalan World Heritage, as castellers (human towers) and excursion to the roman part of Tarragona.

Mitarbeit bei einem katalanischen Festival

PROJECT: Fundacio Escolta Josep Carol. The purpose of this workcamp is that the participants become involved in the technical organization of the festival and discover the Catalan popular culture from the synergies created between the volunteers, organizers of the festival and participants. The Festival is organized by the Associacio Festival Internacional de Musica de Cantonigros , which organise this festival since 1983 with the support of main institutions. In this festival participate bands and choral groups, folk dances, and the festival is now part of European Festivals Association.
WORK: Volunteers will work before, during and after the festival. The technical tasks are: -Assembly and dismantling the infrastructure of the festival - Support the organization of services during the festival - Support in logistics - Control access during the festival. The working hours are not marked, but depending on the arrival of the festival participants and or logistician.
ACCOMODATION: Space provided by the Council of Vic (Old Monastery). The sleeping area is not a hostel, participants will sleep in the floor, bring sleeping bags and mattress Cooking of the meals of the first and final days will be done by participants together with camp leaders (during the festival there is a catering), and the menu is not negotiable. Hours of meals will depend on the tasks.
LOCATION: At the beginning of the workcamp, the festival will have not started yet. The participipants will have time to know each other, and the organizers will explain to the participants their tasks during the festival. There will be discovering activities, with the participation of the local people that provides specially nice mood. There will be also leusire time activities, where young participants will learn different games, workshops ... in order to promote group cohesion, motivation... -Cultural Exchange among participants-international Food-Discussions-Simulation games. Each night there will be a work on one of the scouts values through various dynamics.

Mithilfe beim Jugendfestival für klassische Musik

Work: The work of the volunteers will consist of (mainly technical) support of a summer international festival of clasical music and youth exchange, which will happen during these days in the little town Buitrago del Lozoya. This will be an intercultural exchange between young musicians who will train and play music together with local youngsters, directly on the streets of the town. At the end, there will be a final concert prepared. Volunteers will have different tasks, as carrying tools, instruments and pre-requesists, preparing the final concert, accompanying a group of young musicians (those under 18) from one place to the other, making publicity, etc. Participants of a workcamps will be in direct contact with young musicians and local youngsters and if you play some clasical musical instrument, you will be also very welcome to join some of the performances as a musican.
Accomodation: will be provided probably in a local school of the municipality. It may be necessary to bring a sleeping bag and mat. Volunteers will cook for themselve using the camping gas or local kitchen unless we get some last minute finacial support.

Important: This porjects is done together with a Dutch Fundation so Dutch and other volunteers from the area (BENELUX, Germany, Denmark, Great Britain …) are more than welcome .

Prähistorisches Erbe in einem katalonischen Dorf

PROJECT: Coordinacio Rural de Catalunya. In the town of Peramola are about 15 prehistoric sites and it´s important to recover the prehistoric archaeological heritage. The workcamp is part of a project of long duration, with the support of the City of Peramola, teachers of the UPC and the UAB and the Regional Council of Alt Urgell. Apart from the technical tasks young people will discover and enjoy community life of people through workshops and activities in the afternoon and evening. The village of Peramola has 300 inhabitants, and an international project involving young people can be very positive both for participants to learn and live in rural areas and for people to interact with young people around the world.
WORK: - Prospective sites using a GPS, map, and other instruments.- Work on the database and interpretation of the tools found in the deposits.
ACCOMODATION: Fonda´s farmhouse of Peramola, rooms with beds, 3-4 people. You will need a sleeping bag.

Archäologische Ausgrabung in Andalusien

This project takes place in the region of Andalucía, in the province of Córdoba.
WORK: Discovery of califal decorative material and other archaeological materials: cleaning, sorting and marking. Work to support the undertakings scheduled as part of the project for the research and relocation of these materials at different locations on the site. Work at the various departments of the Archaeology Site to get to know internal work, and the necessary steps for recovery and preservation.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES: Excursions and visits: area of Madinat Al-Zahara (bridges, aqueducts, quarries, etc.), Córdoba (monuments, museums, districts, etc), Granada (Alhambra Palace, Albycín). Activities to learn more about: Al-Andalus, Cordoba, Madinat Al-Zahra. Workshops; theatre, juggling, etc.,
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Youth Hostel ´Córdoba´ - Plaza Juda Levi s/n (Córdoba).
LOCATION: In the archaeological site of Madinat Al-Zahra located on the Palma de Río road, some 10 km from Cordoba. The city contains very significant treasures of Andalusian gum Arabic art. Few cities can claim to have an entire ancient califal city so nearby. Madinat Al-Zahra, an emblematic place given its rich history, is surrounded by a large natural area where one can enjoy nature, culture and urban pleasures at the same time, and is considered to be one of the highlights of Islamic art, thanks to its structure and urban layout, alongside the diversity of materials used, the architectural solutions used and the extraordinary wealth and quality of its decorations. It is a magnificent legacy, which since its creation has become a legend and represents, along with the Aljama Mosque, the essence of one of the most important periods of history on the Iberian Peninsula. the splendour of the caliphate; and Cordoba, together with Baghdad, is the more important city and boasts the greatest cultural splendour of the time, highlighting the period of the caliph Al-haKan II.

Einblick in Tradition, Ökologie und Kultur einer kleinen Gemeinde

This project will take place in the region of Castilla y León, in the province of Salamanca.
WORK: The main activitiy will be to support a space called ´The Territory of the Games´. Basic elements for the development of activities in this place should be developed:
- Green roof on the Straw Bale Cabin
- Composting toilet building
- Construction of solar showers
- Building a dome-shaped greenhouse
- Construction of a traditional oven
In buildings it will be used the criteria of low impact, traditional building techniques and eco-efficient technology. Volunteers will gain skills in self-construction, bio-building, sustainability, use of local materials and recycling..
LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Volunteers will also participate in diverse activities of social and cultural animation and rural revival, collaborating with municipal associations, taking possibilities such as popular games and cultural tradition. Among others, the following activities are proposed: Festival of intergenerational games, Trade Fair, Rural life and culture shop, Environmental shop, Experience a day with a family, Participation in the Cultural Evenings at the Amphitheatre.
Also, to fill in free time, there will be other activities and shops of cultural, recreational, sports directed to the group of young participants, such as: Day trips to Salamanca and ´Las Arribes del Duero´ (portuguese border), Dramatization and body expression, Workshops of artistic expression, Sport activities, International cooking.

Historisches Erbe in Vedreres

PROJECT: Grup d Esplai Vidrerenc. The Iscle Castle is situated in Vidreres, a town of the XII century. The castle is an historical patrimony of big importance in Catalonia, for many years was degradated and abandoned. There is the will to recover the castle in order to re-establish its value as it has played a great historical role in the past. The project aims to establish intercultural relations among international volunteers and locals from Vidreres by doing several cultural and popular events.
WORK: The technical work of the project The castle and the chapel of St. Iscle is divided into full archaeological excavation, its restoration and rehabilitation and its subsequent management and public dissemination; recovery from the daily work of the various rooms and items that make up the fortress castle of St. Iscle, to later be make possible to restore it. Participants will be provided with the necessary tools and our archaeologists will explain the basic techniques about ruins restoration.
ACCOMODATION: School Salvador Espriu. The accommodation is held in a big tent with bunk beds. The living facilities will be in the same school. Toilets and showers will be the ones of the school and of the swimming pool and soccer field (they are 50 meters from the school). Meals will be held at the school canteen and prepared by professional cook.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: Cultural excursions (Girona, Barcelona, Lloret de Mar and Costa Brava ...), sports and arts, etc..

Straßentheater für Umweltschutz und Kreativität

Adult workcamp exceptionally open for volunteers up from 17 years old!
WORK: First the participants will prepare a street theatre with clear environmental message, adding their own creative performances (dance, music, joggling, singing,...). They will be sharing ideas and creating a really spectacular extravaganza in each village they visit along the way. The message the participants will be spreading will be one of environmentalism and creativity. After which, we shall head off on our caravan with our donkeys! We will stop at each village and perform our shows and workshops which we have prepared. The local people can then share their thoughts of environmentalism, donkeys and the workshops we are doing. We hope we will stay in each village we perform in, with tents, and meet lots of interesting people along the way, although the final agenda will not be known untill few days before the camp starts, as we depend on local Municipallities to support the performance or not. The Workcamp also takes place during the local ‘fiesta’ or village party, so the opportunity to socialise with local people will be available.
Accomodation: provided in big tents to share within participants, in the Camping Monte Holiday with toilet area, hot water, washing machines and recreation areas, swimming pool and wi-fi connection contained. You need to bring mat and sleeping bag and maybe your own tent. Food will be prepared by volunteers themselves, using the camping gas. During the performance, participants can sleep in another villages in tents or in local schools.

Workcamp in einem Dorf an der Costa Brava

PROJECT: Centre Excursionista Empordanes: This workcamp is intended to show the modus vivendi of the towns on the Costa Brava and bring the participants closer to the legacy of the Civil War, especially in a frontier point as Portbou
WORK: This project aims to recover the historical legacy of paths and routes of exile, and at the same time, to arrange a house that is expected to host the Environment Interpretation Centre. The work will be in the mornings.
ACCOMODATION: Accommodation in the village schools.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: Portbou:Chat of: dry stone construction, nature and environment. Visit to Llanca, Sant Ferran Castle, Dali Museum. Weekend Excursion with Kayak.
REQUIREMENTS: Be able to swim.

Archäologische und soziale Arbeiten in Galizien

This project takes place in the Region of Galicia, in the province of Ourense.
For volunteers 18-30 years old.
WORK: The partner is the "Terras de Celanova Association". An old people´s home is located in the same place and it includes different cultural organizations as Curros Enriquez Foundation as well. One task will be the signposting of the archaeologic site of Castromao, that is one of the main references of the celtic culture of the Northwest of Spain and Portugal. You will get to know more about the first settlements of the Iberian Peninsula in the Bronze age.
COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES - LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Geocatching with GPS, Ecological discovery around the nature section of Ourense an the historical city as well.
Note: These activities may change during the workcamp.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Participants will be accommodated in the youth hostel of Celanova. The site has dinning room and bathroom, outside field, etc. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided.
LOCATION: The workcamp will take place in the council of Celanova, near the city of Ourense. This region (many times noted by writers as Celso Emilio Ferreiro and Méndez Ferrín) comprises the lower half of the course of the Arnoia river, as well as his tributaries Sorga and Tuno and part of the valley of the Deva, with a shore region of the Miño. The mountains of the northern limit are those that limit by the right of the valley of the Arnoia.
TRAVELLING INSTRUCTIONS: Please go to Ourense City and afterwards to Celanova youth hostel (at 20 minutes) by car, bus or taxi.
MEETING POINT: First day between 09:15 and 12:15 am in the youth hostel of Celanova.

Umweltcamp im Bärengebiet

PROJECT: Fundacio Escolta Josep Carol. The region of Pallars Sobira and specifically the area of Alt neu is an area where bears are living. The bear is back after a few decades in extinction. In this workcamp there will be tasks to raise awareness to the tourists about the importance of this emblematic specie as well as work to improve the habitat of this animal. The tasks of raising awareness will be linked to the new center of interpretation of the Bear (Casa de l Os) in Isil.
WORK: restoration of old paths, forest management tasks, awareness of the bear in the Pyrenees (exhibition and guides)
ACCOMODATION: Municipal Hostel of Alos Isil, which currently has just been renovated. It has showers, toilets, kitchen area and two multipurpose rooms. This equipment is in the center of town.
LOCATION AND LEISURE: These activities are designed to promote critical thinking, cooperation, teamwork and to present the reality of the area where we are. So there will be activities such as: -Activities of knowledge: Excursions (discovery of the routes of the bear and the bear house) - Film Forums (on sustainable management, conservation, rural life, Ecotourism ...) - talks with agents of the area (Accio Natura, farmers, guides, visitors of the park ...)

Markierungsarbeiten mit selbstgestalteten Schildern

This project takes place in the region of Aragón in the province of Teruel.
For volunteers 18-26 years old.
PROJECT: Kalathos Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to social services to the community and especially to take care of intellectual disability people and/or at risk of social exclusion. For Kalathos Foundation the promotion and preservation of the environment is a main objective to work, so carry out a numerous kind of activities that include people with intellectual disabilities. In the work camp we want to signpost the path next to the river Guadalopillo. This path goes from the village of Alcorisa towards the village of Foz Calanda. Previously, the sgnpost will be designed by intellectual disability people who work at ATADI-Kalathos Occupational workshop in Alcorisa. The raw material that will be used, it will be wood recycles from the forests that were destroyed by fire which devasted our province the past summer.
The sculptures symbolize the pictures of the Iberian vessel named ´Kalathos´. These sculptures, also will be made with recycled wood recovered after fire, and other recycled materials too. That will be placed in the route in order to help us recognize where we are.
WORK: The tasks os this workcamp consist of two phases:
1st TECHNICAL PREPARATION:
Learn the different necessities that people with intellectual disabilities have to access in their countryside due to their difficulties with location of places and positions.
Assignment of tasks to execute depending on the wide range of capacities and skills.
2nd WORK
Execution of manual tasks which are recquired to prepare and mark several paths: clean up the rubbish, remove the most important obstacles that blocks the paths or that make difficult to walk in them, such as rocks...), make 4 sculptures and several signposts and other type of signs.
Develop the ´quality control´ with invaluable collaboration of intellectual disability people from the work camp and from the ATADI- Kalathos Center.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Visit Santolea´s swamp, Molinos Crystal Caves, the town of Teruel, Aguaviva´s river and its natural pools (camp), Calanda´s Desert (Monastery), San Miguel´s Church (Stargazing). Swimmingpool (free admission all days), traditional events in the nearest villages, ... Visit and take part in the Festival Theatre ´Frutos Festival´ (Music and Circus) in Foz Calanda on the 18th and 19th of August.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Youth Hostel ´Kalathos´ in Alcorisa, with a capacity of 60 beds.
LOCATION: Alcorisa is a village located in the Comarca del Bajo Aragón in Teruel. The center of the village is placed near the river Guadalopillo, at the Sierra del caballo´s foot, where there are many shelters and caves. Alcorisa is surrounded by fiels of olive trees, pine forests, fields of cereal, peach trees and a small variety of herbs. There are also, many places of cultural interest: The Calvary Mount, where are performed the drama of the Cross at Easter, Gallipuen's Swamp, Guadalopillo River Park, Peña de San Juan... Summer in Alcorisa usually is scorching for days and warm at nigts, althoug it depends on the year.

This project takes place in the region of Aragón in the province of Huesca.
For volunteers 18-26 years old.
WORK: There are several tasks to do to support the small community, for example to:
Carry out maintenance and cleaning of the hall of the station
Clean and replace the elements of glass and woodwork in the lobby
Replace roofs on the marquee on the Spanish side
To develop a complementary program of training in the environment and heritage, conservation, compliance and disclosure
Make the stay in place to understand the history and reality of a small mountain village and the natural elements and interventions that man has done in this medium.
Contact to locals are very welcome and part of the project.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Environmental research activities: walks, environmental interpretation, discovering the landscape, fauna, flora, geomorphology, anthropology. Mountaineering activities: two crossings in the area of necklaces and Canal Roya-Ip-Anayet, hiking,... Afternoon tours: Gabardito, Coll of Thieves. Visit the neighboring towns: Villanúa, Castiello, Urdos and Jaca.
ACCOMMODATION/FOOD: Refuge Canfranc, Hostel. Please bring a sleeping bag or a set of sheets.
LOCATION: Canfranc (Huesca).
Canfranc Station is located at an altitude of 1200 meters from the level of the sea and is one of the most senior and Pyrenees in the province of Huesca. Located a few kilometers from the border with France and is crossed by the Camino de Santiago which has historically been great works rather than state for the defense of Spanish territory, the establishment of superstructure works and transport and electricity production holdings through hydroelectric plants. To protect these structures and the people that built and maintains the Spanish state has done impressive work on the sides mountain rising 1,000 meters above Canfranc. For avalanche of snow and rocks do not end up destroying the lives of the valley, in the early twentieth century were two major interventions: hundreds of levees for protection from avalanches and replant millions of trees.

Inselcamp im Atlantik für 25-30 Jährige

WORK: Environmental activities like to conserve the surrounding of the island, to help in prevention of forest fires and to help to clean gulfweed wearing neoprene clothes in the South Island. Participate to information activities to visitors and to help physical disabled (wheelchair or old people) visitors and to collaborate with the Environment Service of the National Park.
ACCOMMODATION: Participants will be accommodated in tents in the workcamp of Cies Islands (Vigo-Pontevedra). The site has buildings has dinning room and bathroom.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by specialized staff.
LOCATION: This workcamp is located in the Cies Islands, in Monte Agudo Island (on the north) to be precise, on the Ría de Vigo, in Vigo Municipality.
The Cies Islands and archipelagos of Cortegada, Sálvora and Ons, belong to the National Park of Atlantic Islands of Galicia. The ecologic value of its marine habitat is incalculable because here there are some of the most representative examples of Atlantic marine eco-systems.
TERMINAL: Vigo. The access to the workcamp will be by ship from ´Estación Marítima´ (besides Nautico) of Vigo Port. It takes 50 min. to arrive at Cies Islands.
MEETING POINT: First day, after 16.00 h. in the workcamp of Cies Islands (Vigo-Pontevedra).
LANGUAGES: Spanish and english.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Sleeping bag and a little backpack for routes, personal cleanliness items, shoes for mountain, warm, waterproof, working and sport clothes, sport shoes and swimming costumes, work gloves, solar protection and a cap, European Health Card for EU volunteers.
